I'd make the claim that the potential outcome of an US election _rarely_ had the chance to have such a huge negative impact on the world. Even if you ignore the policies focusing on "people", the potentially massive environmental damage would be here to stay...
"Pollution" is not a new problem. You would think 'humans as a species' would have learned to make adult decisions about how to treat our environment.
