Good News, Bad News, Both for Discord

Posted by ZenonRetna - 19 hours ago

So, good news first. I managed to get my old discord back in my hands from the scammer. Took just a simple email to official discord support. Bad news though, is that the damage has already been done, given how much work the scammer did with it. So, at least for the time being, I won’t use my old discord (zenonretna), and use the new one (zenontempo) instead. It’s sad that my old account smeared my name like that, and that I couldn’t save everybody. But hopefully it won’t happen anymore, and I’ll do what I can to clean up the mess. And remember, if there’s anymore suspicious activity, don’t be afraid to report it.

Damn, congratulations! I'll just let my account what the hackers do

Damn! Congratulations! I told you it would be resolved. I hope you can rest easy, Zennon. So, be happy and rest, Zennon. I hope things get better in the future and you know how to avoid these kinds of hackers.💜✨

I'm so glad to know this! This is why I always link the official Discord Support page to people who fell for this scam. If one is fast to contact them and calms down after the initial scare/sadness and/or anger, once can recover the account!

I wish I did sooner, but not much to do now except hope for the best to those who still can.

@ZenonRetna Now that you know how to recover the account, whenever you come across someone's blog saying they lost their Discord account you can instruct them how to do, because I've seen people giving up their account thinking everything was lost.

In this type of scam the scammer wants to infect as many accounts as possible, so there's a temporal window when one can acts unlike other types of attacks where the scammer/hacker/cybercriminal will delete the account.
